7 Money Saving Hacks For the Holidays
#1 - Look to buy presents online.
We all love the Christmas displays and being in a department store in December, but you could probably find whatever you're shopping for, cheaper online. Try Amazon for books, Depop for clothes or All Beauty for perfume - it's the same products, only cheaper.
#2 - Regularly check coupon blogs and deal sites for best deal alerts.
There are LOTS of deals websites that will even alert you when there's new discounts available. This will come handy when shopping for presents for loved ones (including yourself!)
#3 - Compare prices
Many stores match competitor prices and coupons, even online prices, some like Home Depot will offer an extra 10% off a competitor’s price.
#4 - Make gifts.
Everyone has a unique talent that they can turn into a wonderful gift. Adding a special personal touch to gifts can be more meaningful than store-bought gifts. Check out these 10 DIY gift ideas for inspiration.
#5 - Take advantage of free/discounted Christmas cards.
Sign up for email alerts from photo companies like Shutterfly, Snapfish, and VistaPrint, who sporadically offer free and discounted holiday cards. Or if you're the crafty type with materials already in your house - DIY it!
#6 - Sell some of your current toys to make room and earn money for new gifts.
Sites like Craigslist are great for selling your gently used toys. Others will enjoy those toys at a fraction of the cost, and you’ll get to clear up space and earn a little extra spending money. Win-win if you ask us!
#7 - Re-gift unused gifts.
Is it really ok to re-gift? It may look improper to do just that but it’s not ok either if you’re not going to use these gifts. If the present was not handmade for you and the receiver would find more value in it, it might make more sense to pass it onto someone who can better use it.Which one of these 7 money saving hacks for the holidays are you going to try?
