Candy Recipes: Chex Mix Recipe Puppy Chow Dessert
Are you looking for an easy chex mix recipe to make for a party? Here is an easy recipe to make this delicious dessert! We call it Puppy Chow, but it is just like the Chex Mix Muddy Buddies! I love making all kinds of different chex mix recipe.
Chex Mix Recipe: Puppy Chow
I got this awesome recipe from my brother's girlfriend and I make it all the time. Here is what you will need -
Chex Mix Recipe: Puppy Chow Ingredients
- 1 Box Chex Cereal
- 1 Bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 1 Jar of Peanut Butter {small jar}
- Powdered Sugar
After you have all of the ingredients, you will start making it by melting the chocolate. I always boil the water in a pot and place a bowl on top for the chocolate so that it does not burn.
Once the chocolate begins to melt I add the stick of butter and the jar of peanut butter. Make sure you keep stirring it so that it all melts together.
Pour the Chex Mix cereal into a large bowl.
Now you can pour the chocolate sauce on top of the Chex Mix cereal. I like to add a little bit at a time and stop to stir so that it coats it evenly. Make sure all of the cereal is covered.Next, I cover a cookie sheet with wax paper and spread the Puppy Chow out on top of it to add the powdered sugar. You can also put it into a paper bag and shake it up while you add the powdered sugar. You can add as little or as much of it as you like.
Then, put it into the freezer for about 15 minutes to let it setup, and you're done! You can then keep it in the fridge.
