Knowing if your child is ready for Potty Training?

This is honestly a question that only you will know the answer. I do not think that all children will show you the obvious signs like sitting on a potty chair or pretending to go on the big toilet.

Connor started to ask me to change him when he was pooped. He began to hate the discomfort of having a soiled diaper. Your child should be able to understand when they have had a bowel movement. Some kids may hide when they have to go to the bathroom. That is definitely a sign of readiness.They are able to acknowledge what they are about to do.Other important aspects of readiness is figuring out if your child can easily learn new tasks, how well they communicate with you, and if they can understand simple concepts like ‘put your cup on the table’ or ‘go get your toy.’ It can sometimes be hard to know if they are ready but as a parent you know your child the best. That’s why I think most people say wait until 3 years of age.I fully believe that once you start the potty training process you need to be completely committed. Not only does your child have to be ready but YOU also need to be ready! It can be confusing for a child to start going on the potty and then going back to diapers. Your child will have accidents and it is a difficult process for everyone. {It will definitely be frustrating at times!} I will provide you with an outline of the steps we took in to potty train in 3 days. You need to not only focus on the actual task of going on the potty but all the leg work ahead of time to get them prepared for the big day! It is really important to be prepared!
