Dr Seuss Birthday Party
We recently celebrated my son Mason's first birthday with a Dr Seuss Birthday party! I honestly cannot believe that he turned 1! It was an extremely quick year. I wanted to make his birthday special so I tried to coordinate as much of the decorations and food to go along with his party. I thought it would be really cute to do a Dr Seuss Birthday theme!! It turned out really nice! Here are some pictures from the party.Since it was a Dr Seuss birthday party I had to have Green Eggs!
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” -Dr. Seuss
I was really lucky when it came to the cake because a friend of the family made it from Puddin Cakes. Not only did it look cute but it tasted really good too!For the cupcakes I found this really cute idea from Kitchen DoughDough to make Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes! This was super easy to do! I used Red Devil Cake Mix and iced them with a little bit of white icing and then just added cotton candy to the top to make their hair. As you can see I took this picture awhile after I had made them so the cotton candy had started to fall and crumble, but they turned out really nice. I used little sticky tags and just hand wrote thing 1 and thing 2 on them.I tried to think of as many Dr. Seuss books and themes I could incorporate into the Dr Seuss Birthday party food and decorations so I made sure we had goldfish! I also did swedish fish, licorice and blue and white striped suckers to stick with the party colors.Overall, the party turned out great. The best part was the smile on my son's face all day! :)
