I have never been a person to worry about age or feel the need to lie and say that I am younger, but shutting the door on my 20’s was tough. I am sure most people would agree that they hate aging. I feel like I can accept it more when it comes to myself, but when it comes to my dogs or kids I have a HARD time.I told you before about our nine year old dog, Onyx, and how we are focusing on taking care of her as she ages. It is difficult to think of her getting older. She has been a part of our family before we even had children.Over the past few years, Onyx has really slowed down. It is difficult to see how long it takes her to go up and down stairs or her slow response time when we call her. She has a hard time keeping up with her three boys. Now that she is over the age of 7 she is considered a senior. That is definitely hard to accept. To me, she is still a puppy. But, I know that I have to accept it and do everything I can to help her during this aging process. We try to keep her as active as we can. Although she does get tired easily she still enjoys playing outside and exploring in the woods. I know both of these will help to keep her happy and healthy. Also, we are making sure that she maintains a healthy diet with Purina® Pro Plan® BRIGHT MIND 7+ which is specially formulated with enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs seven and older within 30 days. We were able to purchase this food at our local PetSmart. By feeding your dog Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind as a daily diet you may notice differences in your dog's interaction, interest in play and the ability to adapt and cope with change. I think the biggest change we noticed was in her excitement and interest to play with our kids.We made the transition more than a month ago and I am happy to report that we saw visible results in thirty days. Onyx has shown an improvement in cognitive awareness and an increase in activity level. Although it is inevitable to prevent her from aging it makes me happy to know that we are providing her with the best care throughout the process.Purina was kind enough to send us a GoPro to document our transition, so today I wanted to share with you a short video of how crazy it is to see life from her perspective. She definitely puts up with a lot on a daily basis, but I know she has a ton of fun with our family. Find out how you can help your dog age gracefully when they hit their senior yearsIt is hard for anyone to keep up with my active little boys. They really tire her out, but it is nice to see how much she loves them and protects my children.A day in the life of Onyx…
