Have you ever asked yourself, “Should I start a blog?” Personally, I love blogging, and it has been a game-changer for me. A few years ago, I asked myself this exact same question.Should I start a blog? Was it right for me? Would I be good at it? I was not sure if starting a blog was something that would be good for me, because I am a shy person. I am an introvert, and I was afraid of putting myself out there.Thankfully, I took that leap, and started Frugal Fanatic four and a half years ago. I have a degree in Secondary Education, and I have my MBA. I never knew that blogging would be a common ground between both of those for me.Blogging allows me to work from home, and earn a six-figure income. It has helped me to create friendships, and make an impact on other people’s lives.To say I am passionate about it is an understatement. It has changed my life. I am more than happy that I answered YES when I asked myself if I should start a blog years ago.Today, I am sharing with you 10 reasons to start a blog, so that you can decide if you think it may be the perfect thing for you.

#1 It’s easy to get startedYou don’t need to have any kind of prior experience, and setting up your blog takes a small amount of time. You can set up a self-hosted Wordpress blog in minutes.Not to mention, the cost to get started is minimal. Unlike other businesses where there is a rather large investment to get started, blogging only requires a small amount of money and you are ready to go.Don’t get scared off by the technical stuff - I can walk you through the process with this video tutorial. #2 You get to help peopleI hear a lot of my friends and family complaining that their jobs have no value, and don’t have any kind of impact on the world. Blogging can change that. This is honestly one of my favorite things about blogging - you get to help people.Think of how many times you have turned to one of your favorite blogs to answer a question you have or solve a problem you are facing. When you have your own blog, you are the person that your audience turns to when they need help.Honestly, it is extremely gratifying when you receive a comment or an email from a reader thanking you because of the impact you have made on their lives.Having a blog is the perfect way to inspire and help other people. #3 Blogging can grow your businessIf you have a brick and mortar business, or even an online shop, blogging can help you to reach new customers. I can work from home, a coffee shop, and even when we are at the beach.I don’t have to worry about having a boss or taking time off. Having the time and opportunity to do the things I want to do is honestly amazing. #5 You can make moneyIt is definitely hard work, but you can make money from your blog. This is one of the questions that I get on a daily basis. When I first started, I didn’t even know that it was possible, nor was it a goal of mine.Blogging is definitely not a get rich quick plan, but it is possible. When I first started, I was able to cover my expenses. Within a few months, I started making a couple hundred dollars per month, and just increased it from there. It is a lot of work. For me, I have used my blog to create a full-time business from home. The process has been extremely challenging, but reaching my goals and overcoming problems has been incredible.Not only have I learned a lot about myself throughout the process, but I have learned so many new things that I otherwise would not have learned. #10 Make new friendsYou might think this is an odd reason to start a blog, but sometimes it is difficult to make new friends. As I get older, I’ve definitely lost touch with a lot of my friends from high school and college.Since I have started my blog, I’ve found a lot of other bloggers who I relate to, and now call my friends. At first it seemed strange to be friends with people who I have never even met, but it is nice to know people who can understand what I do.My family and friends have a hard time understanding what I do.
