Ways To Get Your Toddler To Help Do The Laundry
I know you are probably thinking that having your toddler do laundry seems crazy or out of their level of ability. I have three boys that have a TON of energy so finding productive ways to help around the house is a necessity for us. Not only do they LOVE having a job to do especially helping mom, but I want to know that they too need to help out around the house. Most of the time my boys follow me around the house. So, naturally they became curious about how to do the laundry. I know they are undoable to do it themselves but they can surely help out with the small aspects of the job. Between the three of them and my husband and I, our laundry piles up quick. I do laundry EVERY SINGLE DAY!Instead of always asking my boys to stay out of my way when I was getting the laundry done, I thought why not have them help. It gives them a sense of pride when they are a ‘good helper.’ Here are some ideas of what you can have your toddler to help with your laundry:
- Fill up with washer with clothes
- Add soap/fabric softener
- Help transfer clothes from washer to dryer
- Match socks
- Put away their own clothing
Depending on the age of your children you can take it a step further and teach them how to use the washer and dryer. If they are old enough that can even be responsible for folding their own clothing. You can also print our Free Toddler Chore Charts to get your child to help out around your household. Also, take a look at some of our other Free Printables and read what I Have Learned From Motherhood {so far}.
